I call this dish Chicken Balsetta for its Basil. Its one of my staples.
What you’ll need:
rice (1/3 a cup per person)
chicken (~1 breast per person)
1 tomatoe
1/4 broccoli
2 small carrots
2 cloves of garlic
2 slices of onion
extra virgin olive oil
sesame seeds
celery seeds
basil
paprika
tarragon
salt/pepper
cardamom seeds
To start get the rice on to boil. Wash the rice a few times by running it under the water, and then (for white rice) add 1:1 water:rice and bring to a boil, then turn to low and set your time for 15 minutes.
While I wait for the rice to boil, I chop up my chicken into bite sized pieces, and put them in the frying pan, add a dash of olive oil and turn it on med-high temp.
At this point, I add all the spices. My favorite for all chicken dishes is tarragon, some paprika, sesame seeds are a must, celery seeds, and the spice to make the recipe: Basil!
Keep an eye on this when cutting up veges so that it doesn’t burn (ie. stir it frequently!)
I like to cut up my garlic and onions first, to quickly get them in with the chicken to give it more flavor, but thats me.
Then cut up the carrots (and any other veges you so choose to add, just not the tomato) and throw them in when the chicken is almost done.
When this whole mix is almost done put your chopped up tomato’s into the mix, you just want to warm them up so that they don’t get soft on you, but still warm (this is how I like them personally).
Mind your rice, it should be done about the same time. The chicken usually takes me about 10 min, the rice 15 min always. So, just time it right.
I like to serve mine with a side of a few slices of tomato to make it look extra pretty!
Enjoy!

Thumbing through a baby chickens for sale in South Plains Texas
catalog is a yearly traditions in many houses. My kids and I eagerly await
the Murray McMurray Hatchery catalog. We love looking at all the cool and
different chicken breeds available. Catalogs are free so head on over to
their site and request one if you are interested.
Typically hatcheries online offer both standard breeds
and bantams. Bantams are fun hardy little chickens, they lay tiny eggs
that kids especially love collecting. Bantams typically weigh less than 2
pounds when full grown. Just like ordering anything online there are pros
and cons to ordering baby chicks online. Pros of buying baby chicks in
South Plains Texas * Big Selection - If you are wanting a large
variety of different chicken breeds and egg colors, you will find the best
selection at an online hatchery. * Both Bantams and full sized chickens
available * You get to choose what sex you want. If you want a mixture of
both male and female then choosing a "straight run" will save you money
and you will get a mixture of male and female chicks. You can also choose
all males or all females too. * Weekly specials. Hatcheries have sales on
chicks, you are likely to get a good deal if you are flexible with the
breeds you are wanting. Cons of buying baby chicks in South Plains
Texas * Order early to get the best selection. Certain breeds sell
out fast, sometimes as early as 6 months in advance of shipping! If you
are wanting a certain breed it's best to order your chicks in the fall
before their orders sell out.
Baby Chickens And Heat Lamps in
South Plains, Texas
Quantity - you must order a certain number of chicks. Typically hatcheries
will require you buy a minimum of 25 chicks at a time. The number is
necessary for the chicks survival during shipping. All 25 chicks are put
in one small box without heat. They are crowded in the box and produce
enough body heat to arrive in good shape. * The wait - If you choose to
buy chicks from a feed store you will have them the same day but if you
choose to go with a hatchery you have to wait until they are ready to ship
and then wait for the chicks to arrive. Ordering baby chicks online in
South Plains Texas is easy and has always been a very pleasant
experience of me. It can be a little frustrating waiting for the chicks
but it's so worth the wait. When the post office calls and you hear all
those little "cheeps" or "chirps" in the background you'll know the wait
was worth it! How to Care for your new baby chickens in South Plains,
Texas Baby chicks are quite
charming as well as
difficult to withstand,
but it's best to plan for their
arrival before you get them. Prepare first
by gathering not only the
appropriate products, however
likewise the appropriate
understanding to care for
them. Raising baby chicks is fairly
easy, you simply have to give them with the following: A
clean and also warm
habitat Plenty of food as well
as water Interest and
love Environment Your environment could be a straightforward box, aquarium,
feline provider, or guinea
pig cage. Line it with old towels as well as
blankets (with no loosened
strings!) to start, and after a few weeks use straw over newspaper.
Keep in mind: Avoid using only
paper or other slipper
surfaces-- or your chicks legs can grow
malformed. You likewise need
something to dish out food and
water in, such as a chicken feeder and water
meal from the feed shop, or a pickle jar
lid for food and a pet bird water dispenser from a pet shop. Additionally, as the chicks age you could introduce a perch
right into the habitat to get them
trained on setting down. Warmth To
maintain your chicks warm you have to
offer them with a heat resource.
This could be as straightforward as a 100 watt
light bulb in a reflective clamp style light from a
hardware store, or an infrared reptile heat
light bulb also function very
well (my
referral). Chicks need this
warmth 24/7 till their downy fluff is
changed with plumes (which could take up to 2 months). The freshly
hatched out require a temperature
in between 90 as well as 100 degrees,
as well as every week this could
be decreased by
around 5 levels or
so. The heat source ought
to be on simply one side of the cage
to allow chicks a variety of
temperatures. The chicks are your best
thermometer- if they are hiding in the
opposite corner of your heat
lamp, you have to
reduce the temperature level. If
they are surrounding each other under the
warmth (not just curling up),
you need to put some warmth.
Housekeeping
Cleanliness is vital and it maintains your chicks healthy. Make sure to change
the bedding
typically as well as
consistently offer clean
food as well as water Food and water.
Chicks grow very fast
which needs plenty of clean
food and water. Supply
sufficient in any way times and also examine
often to prevent thirsty and
hungry chicks. Chick food is different compared
to grown-up chicken food, and also it comes
in both medicated and
also non-medicated varieties. Feed chick food for the
very first 2 months, then
change to a grower food (~ 17 %
healthy protein) for one more 2 months,
and afterwards to a somewhat
reduced protein feed or a layer feed
(if you have layers). Dirt Some chicks want
to obtain a running start on taking
dirt bathrooms, while others won't occupy that activity till they are
older. If you have the room in your chick
enclosure, introduce a tray of sand or
dust for them to wash in.
Focus as well as love There are a couple of benefits to spending quality time with your chicks. First of all, they will certainly more than likely bond with you as well as
not flee as adults. Second, if you
analyze your chicks daily as well as
view their habits, you can
catch disease or other issues previously. Watch out for hissing, limping, or
other unhealthy
indications. Be sure to
additionally consider
their poop, as diarrhea can cause matted plumes and also stopped up cloaca.
Lastly, it is very
important to look out
for social issues, such as the
littlest chick obtaining badgered. Empty nest syndrome So your
chicks are now completely feathered
and also its time for them to leave the
safety and security of your house
and also relocate outside right into a cage. Take a look at our
area on chicken coops for more information
about coops as well as
appropriate cage habitats.
