‘Men & Chicken’ Trailer: These Brothers Really Like Chickens

‘Men & Chicken’ Trailer: These Brothers Really Like Chickens

April 2, 2016

Without a doubt, we won’t witness another comedy quite like Men & Chicken this year. I was lucky enough to see the film at Fantastic Fest a few months ago, following its at the Toronto International Film Festival, and it’s an offbeat story about family that grows richer and funnier with time.

Below, watch the Men & Chicken trailer.

Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) and David Denick (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) star in writer-director Anders Thomas Jensen‘s strangely sweet Danish comedy. This is Jensen’s third collaboration with Mikkelsen, who continues to show the actor in a new light, at least to audiences more accustomed to the actor’s manlier performances. In Men & Chicken, Mikkelsen and Jensen go to some surprising places together.

It’s a shame they included that final comedic beat in the trailer. It’s not a huge spoiler or anything — and it’s a funny interaction, so it makes sense to include it — but that’s a reveal that probably would’ve been best left unspoiled.

As dark and as bizarre as Men & Chicken can get, it’s a surprisingly kindhearted story about accepting your family, flaws and all. This family has some pretty notable flaws, too, so it’s both funny and, at times, kind of sweet to see them come together.

Any fan of Mikkelsen’s work should seek the film out. The actor, along with the rest of the cast, completely commit to the tone Jensen is going for. It is a big, broad comedy, but Mikkelsen and his co-stars bring a surprising amount of humanity to their characters, no matter how ridiculous the circumstances get.

Here’s the official synopsis for Men & Chicken:

Men & Chicken is a darkly hilarious slapstick comedy starring Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal,” ingeniously cast against type) about a pair of socially-challenged siblings who discover they are adopted half-brothers in their late father’s videotaped will. Their journey in search of their true father takes them to the small, insular Danish island of Ork, where they stumble upon three additional half-brothers-each also sporting hereditary harelips and lunatic tendencies-living in a dilapidated mansion overrun by barn animals. Initially unwelcome by their newfound kin, the two visitors stubbornly wear them down until they’re reluctantly invited to stay. As the misfit bunch get to know each other, they unwittingly uncover a deep family secret that ultimately binds them together.

This inventively bizarre and outlandish comedy is directed by acclaimed, Oscar®-winning director Anders Thomas Jensen and also stars David Dencik (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.)

Men & Chicken opens in theaters April 22nd.

NDTypically hatcheries online offer both standard breeds and bantams. Bantams are fun hardy little chickens, they lay tiny eggs that kids especially love collecting. Bantams typically weigh less than 2 pounds when full grown. Just like ordering anything online there are pros and cons to ordering baby chicks online. Pros of buying baby chicks in Beach North Dakota * Big Selection - If you are wanting a large variety of different chicken breeds and egg colors, you will find the best selection at an online hatchery. * Both Bantams and full sized chickens available * You get to choose what sex you want. Quantity - you must order a certain number of chicks. Typically hatcheries will require you buy a minimum of 25 chicks at a time. The number is necessary for the chicks survival during shipping. All 25 chicks are put in one small box without heat. They are crowded in the box and produce enough body heat to arrive in good shape. * The wait - If you choose to buy chicks from a feed store you will have them the same day but if you choose to go with a hatchery you have to wait until they are ready to ship and then wait for the chicks to arrive. Ordering baby chicks online in Beach North Dakota is easy and has always been a very pleasant experience of me. It can be a little frustrating waiting for the chicks but it's so worth the wait. When the post office calls and you hear all those little "cheeps" or "chirps" in the background you'll know the wait was worth it! How to Care for your new baby chickens in Beach, North Dakota Baby chicks are very cute as well as tough to withstand, however it's best to plan for their arrival prior to you obtain them. Prepare first by gathering not only the right materials, yet additionally the proper knowledge to take care of them. Raising baby chicks is relatively basic, you just need to offer them with the following: A tidy and also warm habitat A lot of food and also water Interest and love Habitat Your habitat can be a simple box, aquarium, feline provider, or guinea porker cage. Line it with old towels and coverings (with no loose strings!) to begin, and also after a few weeks make use of straw over newspaper. Keep in mind: Avoid making use of just paper or other slipper surfaces-- or your chicks legs could expand malformed. You also need something to dish out food and also water in, such as a chicken feeder and also water recipe from the feed store, or a pickle container cover for food and also a pet dog bird water dispenser from a family pet store. Likewise, as the chicks age you could present a perch into the environment to obtain them trained on setting down. Warmth To keep your chicks warm you have to give them with a heat resource. This can be as simple as a 100 watt light bulb in a reflective clamp design lamp from a hardware shop, or an infrared reptile warmth bulb also work extremely well (my suggestion). Chicks require this warmth 24/7 till their downy fluff is changed with feathers (which can take up to two months). The freshly hatched need a temperature level in between 90 as well as 100 degrees, and weekly this can be reduced by roughly 5 levels or so. The warmth source ought to get on just one side of the cage to permit chicks a variety of temperatures. The chicks are your finest thermostat- if they are hiding in the other edge of your heat lamp, you have to minimize the temperature. If they are surrounding each various other under the heat (not just snuggling), you need to include some heat. Housekeeping Cleanliness is vital as well as it maintains your chicks healthy and balanced. Make certain to transform the bed linens often as well as consistently supply tidy food and also water Food and water. Chicks grow extremely quickly which calls for lots of clean food and water. Give enough in any way times and check frequently to stop dehydrated as well as starving chicks. Chick food is different than adult chicken food, as well as it can be found in both medicated and also non-medicated varieties. Feed chick food for the initial two months, then change to a grower food (~ 17 % protein) for an additional 2 months, then to a somewhat lower protein feed or a layer feed (if you have layers). Dirt Some chicks prefer to obtain a head start on taking dirt baths, while others will not take up that activity until they are older. If you have the room in your chick unit, present a tray of sand or dirt for them to bathe in. Attention and love There are a couple of advantages to spending quality time with your chicks. Firstly, they will most likely bond with you and not run away as grownups. Second, if you analyze your chicks daily and also watch their behavior, you can catch health problem or other issues earlier. Keep an eye out for wheezing, limping, or various other undesirable indications. Make certain to also check out their poop, as diarrhea could bring about matted feathers as well as clogged cloaca. Last but not least, it is very important to watch out for social issues, such as the tiniest chick obtaining badgered. Empty nest syndrome So your chicks are currently completely feathered and its time for them to leave the safety and security of your residence and also move outside into a cage.
