You have to understand my delight when I found out that on March 25th 2014, Tickety Toc had a new DVD released . As I mentioned before in a previous the thing I love about these shows is that they are not just nonsense filled cartoons, they have content and teach children about social responsibility, teamwork and problem solving and the great thing is the kids don’t even realize they are learning as they go. with that I find great confidence in letting them view this show for a couple minutes of quiet time for me.
So come join Tommy and Tallulah as they celebrate Spring with picnics, nature hikes, kite flying contests and of course watermelon. Now it wouldn’t be Tickety Toc if there wasn’t a problem to be solved. NJTypically hatcheries online offer both standard breeds and bantams. Bantams are fun hardy little chickens, they lay tiny eggs that kids especially love collecting. Bantams typically weigh less than 2 pounds when full grown. Just like ordering anything online there are pros and cons to ordering baby chicks online. Pros of buying baby chicks in Bridgeport New Jersey * Big Selection - If you are wanting a large variety of different chicken breeds and egg colors, you will find the best selection at an online hatchery. * Both Bantams and full sized chickens available * You get to choose what sex you want. If you want a mixture of both male and female then choosing a "straight run" will save you money and you will get a mixture of male and female chicks. You can also choose all males or all females too. * Weekly specials. Hatcheries have sales on chicks, you are likely to get a good deal if you are flexible with the breeds you are wanting. Cons of buying baby chicks in Bridgeport New Jersey * Order early to get the best selection. Certain breeds sell out fast, sometimes as early as 6 months in advance of shipping! If you are wanting a certain breed it's best to order your chicks in the fall before their orders sell out.

Quantity - you must order a certain number of chicks. Typically hatcheries will require you buy a minimum of 25 chicks at a time. The number is necessary for the chicks survival during shipping. All 25 chicks are put in one small box without heat. They are crowded in the box and produce enough body heat to arrive in good shape. * The wait - If you choose to buy chicks from a feed store you will have them the same day but if you choose to go with a hatchery you have to wait until they are ready to ship and then wait for the chicks to arrive. Ordering baby chicks online in Bridgeport New Jersey is easy and has always been a very pleasant experience of me. It can be a little frustrating waiting for the chicks but it's so worth the wait. When the post office calls and you hear all those little "cheeps" or "chirps" in the background you'll know the wait was worth it! How to Care for your new baby chickens in Bridgeport, New Jersey Baby chicks are quite adorable and tough to withstand, however it's best to prepare for their arrival prior to you get them. Prepare initially by collecting not just the correct materials, but likewise the appropriate knowledge to care for them. Raising baby chicks is fairly easy, you simply have to offer them with the following: A clean and also cozy habitat Plenty of food and also water Focus and also love Habitat Your habitat can be an easy box, aquarium, pet cat service provider, or guinea porker cage. Line it with old towels and blankets (without any loose strings!) to start, and also after a few weeks make use of straw over paper. Keep in mind: Avoid utilizing only newspaper or other sandal surfaces-- or your chicks legs can grow misshapen. You also require something to dish out food and water in, such as a chicken feeder as well as water dish from the feed shop, or a pickle container lid for food as well as an animal bird water dispenser from an animal store. Also, as the chicks get older you could introduce a perch right into the environment to obtain them educated on setting down. Warmth To maintain your chicks warm you need to provide them with a warmth source. This can be as easy as a 100 watt light bulb in a reflective clamp style light from a hardware store, or an infrared reptile heat light bulb also work very well (my suggestion). Chicks need this heat 24/7 up until their downy fluff is changed with plumes (which could use up to 2 months). The recently hatched need a temperature in between 90 and 100 levels, and every week this could be decreased by approximately 5 levels or so. The warmth source need to get on just one side of the cage to allow chicks an array of temperature levels. The chicks are your ideal thermostat- if they are concealing in the opposite edge of your warmth lamp, you should reduce the temperature level. If they are smothering each various other under the warmth (not just cuddling), you have to include some heat. Home cleaning Tidiness is crucial and also it keeps your chicks healthy. Make sure to transform the bedding often as well as consistently offer clean food and also water Food and also water. Chicks grow extremely quick which calls for a lot of clean food as well as water. Supply sufficient whatsoever times and also examine often to stop dehydrated as well as starving chicks. Chick food is different than adult chicken food, and also it is available in both medicated as well as non-medicated selections. Feed chick food for the initial 2 months, after that switch over to a raiser food (~ 17 % healthy protein) for another 2 months, and after that to a slightly lower healthy protein feed or a layer feed (if you have layers). Dirt Some chicks want to obtain a head start on taking dirt baths, while others won't take up that activity until they are older. If you have the area in your chick room, introduce a tray of sand or dust for them to bathe in. Focus and also love There are a couple of advantages to spending time with your chicks. First off, they will most likely bond with you as well as not flee as adults. Second, if you examine your chicks daily and also see their actions, you could capture illness or other troubles previously. Watch out for wheezing, hopping, or other unhealthy indications. Make certain to also take a look at their poop, as diarrhea can cause matted plumes and also obstructed cloaca. Last but not least, it is essential to look out for social problems, such as the littlest chick getting badgered. Empty nest disorder So your chicks are currently totally feathery and its time for them to leave the security of your home and also move outside right into a cage. Look into our part on chicken cages to read more concerning coops as well as correct coop environments.
